For this assignment you are going to make a wire figure in motion.
Your figure should not be more than 12” from head to toe.
It should be proportionally accurate.
You do not need to include details like individual fingers but you should indicate basic body parts and joints.
Build two interacting figures or give one figure some kind of prop. (As per some of the examples: a dog, an instrument, sports equipment, etc.
You may choose to add other materials as accents but your figures will not be completely covered with gauze or fabric.
If your figure cannot stand on it’s own you will need to make a base for it to stand on and connect it securely to the base. The base would also need to be finished.
BEFORE you start working with wire you will need to draw three preliminary sketches in which you show your figure from different angles. It must be clear what you intend your figure(s) to be doing.
If you plan to use material other than wire indicate what and where on your sketch.
As you work with the wire you will need to figure out how to hid ends and the places where you need to connect two pieces together or use them to enhance your sculpture.
Your sculpture will be graded by the following rubric. Each criterion receives 1-5 points. 5—The artist uses the skill, technique, concept, or requirementconsistently and successfully, 4—The artist attempts the focused skill, technique, concept or requirementwith irregular success, 3—The work shows both a limited attempt at employing the skill, technique, concept or requirementand limited success, 2—The artist rarely uses the skill, technique, concept, or requirementand needs more practice with it, or 1—The artist has not considered or tried to employ the skill, technique, concept, or requirement.
