JUNIOR HIGH ART

OVERVIEW:
JUNIOR HIGH ART (First Semester: 7th Grade/Second Semester 8th Grade)

The goal of 7th and 8th grade art is to build skills and techniques students will be able to utilize in all types of art making. Seventh Graders will work with 2-dimensional art making and Eighth Graders will work with 3-dimensional art making. Students will gain skills working with a variety of materials including: graphite and colored pencils, watercolor and acrylic paint, charcoal, oil and chalk pastels, cardboard, fabric, wire, plaster infused gauze, and more. Students will draw, paint, carve, and build. They will begin to acquire the language they need to be able to talk about art and problem solve within their art making.
