5th and 6th graders began this project by drawing an object with graphite as accurately and with as much detail as they could. They were encouraged to use shading techniques to help render their objects 3-dimensionally. Next they were asked to look at their objects more closely and single out four parts or views that they could draw in order to fill a large sheet of paper. To increase visual interest while also creating unity students were told they should use color, draw each part multiple times, and vary the dimensions. A sample of the results are below.
